Does Glass baby bottle have microplastics?
The short answer
Almost nothing from the bottle. Glass is unaffected by the hot-water step that drives release from polypropylene, which is precisely the mechanism the Nature Food study identified. The silicone teat remains, and it is a much smaller contact surface.

What we don't know
Silicone teats have not been measured for particle release, and they are heated repeatedly during sterilisation. Silicone is generally regarded as more thermally stable than polypropylene; that is a materials-science expectation and not a study of teats.

Li 2020 (Nature Food) — Polypropylene infant bottles prepared to WHO sterilisation guidance released 1.3–16.2 million microplastic particles per litre of formula.
Limitation: Release scaled with water temperature — the highest numbers came from the 70°C step WHO recommends for killing bacteria. The study explicitly did not recommend abandoning that step, and no health outcome was measured.

Schymanski 2018 — Compared formats head to head: single-use PET averaged 14 particles/L, returnable PET 118/L, glass bottles 50/L and beverage cartons 11/L.
Limitation: The glass result is the one people skip. Glass was not zero — particles came from the cap and the filling line, not the bottle wall. Small sample per format.
