Users must understand and acknowledge that all results generated by the Service are approximations based on current scientific understanding and available data, and the accuracy of results may vary depending on multiple environmental factors, product packaging characteristics, and scanning conditions. The Service utilizes advanced algorithms and machine learning technologies to process scan data and generate estimates, but these results should not be considered definitive measurements or scientific certifications. Users of the Service must be at least thirteen (13) years of age, with users between thirteen (13) and eighteen (18) years of age required to obtain explicit parental or legal guardian consent prior to creating an account or utilizing any features of the Service. In creating an account, users are required to provide and maintain accurate, current, and complete information, including but not limited to a valid email address and secure password. Users assume full responsibility for maintaining the confidentiality of their account credentials and accept liability for all activities occurring under their account, whether authorized or unauthorized. The Service reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts suspected of providing false information or engaging in unauthorized activities. The scanning process requires strict adherence to prescribed procedures to obtain optimal results. Users must ensure proper environmental conditions, including adequate lighting, appropriate device positioning, and clean scanning surfaces. When submitting new products to the database, users must provide comprehensive and accurate product information. The Service maintains a rigorous quality control system for all submitted data, and any intentional submission of false or misleading information will result in immediate account suspension and possible legal action. Users grant the Service a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive license to use, modify, and distribute any submitted content for the purposes of improving the Service and advancing scientific understanding of microplastic contamination in consumer products. The Service maintains a comprehensive database of scanned products, including both verified entries and community contributions. All submissions undergo thorough quality control processes and may be modified or removed at the Service's discretion. Community contributors acknowledge that their submissions become part of the collective database and may be used for research purposes, quality improvement, and public education. The Service implements strict data protection protocols, including industry-standard encryption and secure storage systems. Anonymous and aggregated data may be shared with research institutions and partners to advance scientific understanding of microplastic contamination, with users maintaining control over their personal data sharing preferences through comprehensive account settings. In furtherance of scientific advancement, the Service continuously integrates new research findings and scientific data to improve scanning accuracy. This ongoing process may result in periodic updates to scanning algorithms and historical result interpretations. Users will be notified of significant changes that might affect their stored scan results or the interpretation thereof. The Service maintains active partnerships with research institutions and laboratories to validate and improve measurement methodologies, ensuring the highest possible accuracy within technological limitations. Users accept responsibility for maintaining accurate account information, reporting suspicious or inaccurate scan results, following prescribed procedures, respecting intellectual property rights, contributing responsibly to the community database, and refraining from any attempts to manipulate or falsify scan results. The Service strictly prohibits unauthorized commercial use, reverse engineering of scanning technology, and sharing of account credentials with unauthorized users. Any violation of these terms may result in immediate account termination and possible legal action. The Service provides all results and information on an "as is" and "as available" basis, making no warranties, expressed or implied, regarding the precision of scan results. Users acknowledge that microplastic detection and measurement represents an evolving field of research, and results should be interpreted as educational rather than definitive. The Service shall not bear any liability for decisions, actions, or consequences resulting from the use of scan results or product information, including but not limited to personal health decisions, purchasing decisions, or any other actions taken based on the information provided by the Service. Users explicitly agree to use the Service at their own risk and discretion. The Service reserves the absolute right to modify these Terms of Service at any time and for any reason, with or without prior notice. Users will be notified of significant changes through the application interface and/or registered email addresses. Continued use of the Service following any such modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated terms in their entirety. These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, and any disputes shall be subject to binding arbitration in the jurisdiction specified in the Service's legal documentation. Subscription and In-App Purchases MicroPlastics offers 5 free scans and premium features through auto-renewable subscriptions. Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. You can manage and cancel your subscriptions by going to your Account Settings on the App Store after purchase.
