Polylactic Acid (PLA): Is It a Microplastic?
Bio-based polyester made from corn or sugarcane, marketed as compostable. Industrially compostable is an end-of-life claim, not a statement about particles: PLA is still a solid synthetic polymer and sheds particles in use.
