In-app update event
A faster scan, a clearer score, matched swaps
Version 1.1.1 is about the three moments that matter in the app: the scan, the score and the swap. Point the camera at a label, barcode or material marking, see what drives the plastic-contact score, and get a lower-plastic option for the same job.

What changed in 1.1.1
Scan it
Food, drinks, containers or beauty items. Photograph the label or packaging and the app identifies the product and its materials.
Score it
Each report shows a 0 to 100 product-contact signal and the inputs behind it: material, heat, use and condition. Tap a driver to see why it counts.
Swap it
Every report suggests a lower-plastic option for the same need, so the next purchase is easier than the last.

Why this update exists
The most common question after a scan was simple: why this number? 1.1.1 answers it on the report itself. The score now breaks down into the material, contact and use inputs that produced it, so you can see which part of a product matters and check the sources.
The score is a modeled assessment of product contact, not a particle measurement or a health rating. Showing its parts keeps that honest and makes the swap suggestion easier to judge.

What to try first
Three quick checks that show what the update does, using things already in your kitchen or bag.
A plastic water bottle
Scan it, then open the score breakdown to see how material and heat move the signal.
A food container you microwave
Compare the container with the glass or steel swap the report suggests.
A beauty product label
Photograph the ingredient list and see which listed polymers the app recognises.
Your weekly report
After a few scans, Reports shows your average and which item to change first.
