What Beeswax wrap actually is
Cotton cloth coated in beeswax with pine or damar resin for tack and jojoba oil for pliability. It clings by warmth from your hands rather than by static, it is washable in cool water, and it lasts about a year before it needs re-waxing. It is the specific answer to cling film, which is where it is worth using.

Why Beeswax wrap is not a microplastic source
Nothing polymer-related. Its real limits are practical: it cannot go near hot food or hot water, which is what stops it being a general-purpose wrap, and it is not recommended for raw meat because it cannot be washed hot. Some cheaper wraps substitute a soy or synthetic wax — check the stated ingredients, because "vegan wrap" can mean either.

No. Cotton and linen are cellulose fibres — they shed fibres, and those fibres are not microplastics. Blends are the trap: a 60/40 cotton-polyester shirt sheds polyester.
