Freezing is one of the gentler things you can do to plastic — cold reduces migration, and the viral claim that freezing bottles releases dioxins is false. The real issue is repeated freeze-thaw cycling, which embrittles polymers, and thawing in warm water or a microwave, which reintroduces heat.
