For the weekly shop
Check the cart before checkout
The produce is fine. It is the packaging, the pods and the processed aisle that carry the plastic. Shopping Mode adds up the plastic load of everything in your cart and shows a lower-plastic swap for each item, while you are still standing in the store.

How Shopping Mode works
Scan as you shop
Barcode or camera, either works. Each item lands in your cart with a score and the reason behind it.
See the cart total
Shopping Mode adds up the whole cart and names its single biggest plastic-exposure driver before you check out.
Swap the flagged items
Every flagged item gets a lower-plastic alternative, usually sitting on the same shelf a few feet away.
Where groceries hide plastic
Scores lean on published food-contact research, and the studies are linked inside every result.
Coffee pods and tea bags
Some tea bags are sealed with plastic and release billions of particles in hot water. The scanner knows which kinds.
Cans and linings
The can is metal, the lining often is not. Scans flag plastic-lined cans and jars with plastisol lids.
Salt, rice and staples
Some pantry staples consistently test high for microplastics. Tested lists rank brands by measured contamination.
Snacks and wrappers
Heat-sealed wrappers touching fatty food transfer more. Fatty snacks in soft plastic get scored accordingly.
Ask the Plastic Coach
A coach trained on the same research as the scanner. Ask it anything about your results, in plain language.
Which aisle should I worry about most?
For most carts it is drinks and hot-contact items: bottled water, coffee pods and anything you will microwave in its own tray. Produce, even bagged, barely moves your number.
Are paper-looking cartons actually plastic-free?
Usually not. Most cartons are paper bonded to polyethylene layers, and acidic contents like juice increase transfer. They still often beat bottles. Scan the exact product and I will show you the comparison.
