For the room where heat meets plastic

Your kitchen's biggest source is heat plus plastic

Microwaving a plastic container can release millions of particles into the food inside it. The kitchen is where heat, fat and plastic meet every day. Scan your containers, wraps and cookware, then swap the worst offenders first.

How the kitchen audit works

  1. Scan the things food touches

Containers, cutting boards, non-stick pans, kettles, wraps. Each gets a score and the material driving it.

  2. Map your kitchen

Scans build a room-by-room exposure map, so the kitchen shows its own signal instead of one vague total.

  3. Swap by payoff, not guilt

The app ranks swaps by how much exposure they remove. The scratched container you microwave daily beats everything.

The usual suspects

Each category is scored against food-contact studies, linked inside the app so you can read the evidence.

Microwaving in plastic

The single highest-payoff swap in most kitchens. Glass or ceramic for anything that gets hot.

Scratched cutting boards

Plastic boards shed more as they wear. A deeply scored board can add thousands of particles to a single meal prep.

Non-stick past its prime

Flaking coatings end up in food. Scans flag worn non-stick and suggest when replacement actually matters.

Kettles and hot liquids

Heat accelerates shedding. Plastic kettles and pour-over parts are scored for what they add to your morning cup.

Ask the Plastic Coach

A coach trained on the same research as the scanner. Ask it anything about your results, in plain language.

I microwave rice in the container it comes in. How bad?

That is one of the highest-shedding habits in the kitchen: heat, starch and steam inside single-use plastic. Decant into glass or ceramic first and that meal drops from your worst source to a non-issue.

Do I really need to replace my plastic cutting board?

If it is deeply scored, yes, that is where the particles come from. A lightly used board is a lower priority than anything you heat. Wood or bamboo boards remove the source entirely.
