Keurig and microplastics
The short answer
Keurig sells both the highest-scoring coffee format in our database and its own alternative to it. The alternative is better and it is not what most people assume they are buying.
The reusable My K-Cup filter has a steel mesh and a plastic housing, and the hot pressurised water still passes through the housing. It removes the puncture and the capsule wall, which is most of the improvement — but "reusable" is not "plastic-free" and the marketing does not go out of its way to say so.
